With an announcement by Apple ready by March 7, fans of the company are abuzz again of how to trade in iPads that will already be considered outdated in a matter of weeks.  There are those who want to look for trade in iPad options early, as the price of the first-generation iPad and the iPad 2 are expected to go down anew with the announcement of the new gadget, especially when it is almost certain that what will be introduced this coming Wednesday is the third generation of iPads.  The question for a lot of people is, how about the price of this new iPad?  Will people need to earn a lot when they trade in iPads so that buying a new one won't be too much of a financial strain?  This is the fourth part of a five-part series of the iPad's alleged new features and how they will affect its price.

·         A bigger battery

With the a lot of enhancements allegedly included in the new generation of the iPad like a faster processor, an improved screen display, and a better camera, the tablet may need more power.  This may be the reason why a lot of people observed in leaked photos of the iPad 3 that the area where the battery is located is larger.  Obviously, a larger battery equals more power and longer times in between charging.  Of course, a battery that promises a longer life is also more expensive, which definitely contributes to the extra cost of the iPad 3, that is, if it will really have a bigger battery.

·         Proper HDMI

HDMI has been something found in a lot of new gadgets, especially tablet PCs and even smartphones.  What does it mean exactly?  HDMI stands for high-definition multimedia interface, which means your iPad is supposed to be connected to other digital devices like DVD or Blu-ray players, digital TV sets, amps, and monitors, among others, so that digital, uncompressed audio and video signals can be transferred between the two devices.  Now that the new iPad is rumored to have a Retina display screen that has a higher resolution, it may be about time for the iPad to have true HDMI, unlike in previous versions that were HDMI by name only.  This enhanced feature may not really contribute to the extra cost of the iPad 3, since the feature has already been there since the first generation iPad.  The enhanced screen that is needed for 'proper' HDMI will certainly add to the new gadget's cost though.

Now that you know which features will probably add to the iPad's costs and which may be not be included, you should have an idea of how much to save up for the iPad 3.  Remember though, that if you are going to opt for schemes that allow you to trade in iPads for cash, you may not get cash, but instead get store credit.  Clarify the conditions of the trade in iPad scheme you want to join so that you will be able to set  your expectations in terms of how much you can get and how much time you'll spend until you have the credits or cash to upgrade your tablet.
